Hello developer! In this guide, we'll see how to add the Bootstrap 5 modal in laravel 10. Here, we will learn about the Bootstrap 5 modal example. Use Bootstrap’s JavaScript modal plugin to add dialogs to your site for lightboxes, user notifications, or completely custom content.
Modals are built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. They’re positioned over everything else in the document and remove the scroll from the <body>
so that modal content scrolls instead.
Also, you can set the position of the modal on top, bottom, and center and also you display sizes small, default, large, and extra large.

When the backdrop is set to static, the modal will not close when clicking outside it.
<!-- Button trigger modal -->
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" data-bs-toggle="modal" data-bs-target="#staticBackdrop">
Launch static backdrop modal
</button>
<!-- Modal -->
<div class="modal fade" id="staticBackdrop" data-bs-backdrop="static" data-bs-keyboard="false" tabindex="-1" aria-labelledby="staticBackdropLabel" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<h5 class="modal-title" id="staticBackdropLabel">Modal title</h5>
<button type="button" class="btn-close" data-bs-dismiss="modal" aria-label="Close"></button>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
...
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<button type="button" class="btn btn-secondary" data-bs-dismiss="modal">Close</button>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary">Understood</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
When modals become too long for the user’s viewport or device, they scroll independently of the page itself.
You can also create a scrollable modal that allows scrolling the modal body by adding .modal-dialog-scrollable
to .modal-dialog
.
<!-- Scrollable modal -->
<div class="modal-dialog modal-dialog-scrollable">
...
</div>
Add .modal-dialog-centered
to .modal-dialog
to vertically center the modal.
<!-- Vertically centered modal -->
<div class="modal-dialog modal-dialog-centered">
...
</div>
<!-- Vertically centered scrollable modal -->
<div class="modal-dialog modal-dialog-centered modal-dialog-scrollable">
...
</div>
Modals have three optional sizes, available via modifier classes to be placed on a .modal-dialog
.
Size | Class | Modal max-width |
---|---|---|
Small | .modal-sm |
300px |
Default | None | 500px |
Large | .modal-lg |
800px |
Extra large | .modal-xl |
1140px |
The default modal without modifier class constitutes the “medium” size modal
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" data-toggle="modal" data-target=".bd-example-modal-xl">Extra large modal</button>
<div class="modal fade bd-example-modal-xl" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="myExtraLargeModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog modal-xl">
<div class="modal-content">
...
</div>
</div>
</div>
<!-- Large modal -->
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" data-toggle="modal" data-target=".bd-example-modal-lg">Large modal</button>
<div class="modal fade bd-example-modal-lg" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="myLargeModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog modal-lg">
<div class="modal-content">
...

</div>
</div>
<!-- Small modal -->
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" data-toggle="modal" data-target=".bd-example-modal-sm">Small modal</button>
